This week we'll conclude our Easter series, FOLLOWER, on Resurrection Sunday! During Jesus' last few days on earth, he prepares his disciples for the events to come and instructs them that they must deny themselves, take up their cross, and follow him. They couldn't possibly have fully understood the horrors they would see Jesus endure or anticipated what would be required of each of them as the crucifixion unfolded.

What does it mean to deny ourselves and "take up our cross?" It certainly doesn't sound easy, and it isn't, but it's worth it. We will take a close look at what is required of us to be a true follower of Christ.

Last week, we were challenged to count the cost of following Jesus. We learned that Jesus calls his followers to reorder their priorities, sacrifice their comfort, and never look back.

This Sunday, Pastor Gabe will be sharing from the gospel of Luke as Jesus calls each of us to consider what obstacle may stand in the way of us following him completely. As we reflect on Jesus’ challenge to a rich young ruler, we will consider what we are most afraid to lose as the result of following Christ.

It’s not always easy, and it will require sacrifice, but for those who are willing, following Jesus offers a great reward.

We live in a culture that loves to talk about leadership. Every day there are more “experts” filling up your inboxes, your podcast feed, and your social media with new and better ways to lead, to get ahead, and to make your mark. Jesus teaches something a whole lot simpler. He teaches us the power of following. In our three-part Easter series, Follower, we’ll be looking at three passages of scripture where Jesus calls us to follow him.

Pastor Jon will be starting the series this Sunday with a message called “Foxes Have Holes,” where we’ll be challenged to count the cost of following Jesus. It’s not always easy, and it will require sacrifice, but for those who are willing, following Jesus offers a great reward.

Jonah | Examined By God (pt 5)

This Sunday we will conclude our Jonah series with the sermon "Examined by God".  We will find our author on a hillside outside of Nineveh feeling very disappointed with God at what his eyes are seeing.  He accuses, questions, and even judges God's grace on Nineveh!

How will God respond to being put on trial by Jonah? Join us this week as we will see who will get the final word.

Have you lived long enough to realize that there are simply different seasons to life? Things change, people change, we even change . . . and we find that not all changes that come are welcomed, but sometimes very necessary. 

This week, we will follow a changed prophet (Jonah 3) into Nineveh and learn from his short, simple, yet very powerful message of repentance that changed an entire city.

If you find yourself in a season of change, this should be an encouraging Sunday.

Have you ever felt stuck, even trapped, in life’s circumstances . . . or maybe your own consequences? Has it ever seemed like no matter what you do, life just isn’t working out or you aren’t making any progress? Are you tempted to think God is holding you back or preventing your progress?

This Sunday, join us as we read the psalm of Jonah (Jonah 2), inspired within the pit of despair. A song written about the time his God chose to rescue him, even while he was drowning in his own mistakes.

Last week, we learned from God’s prodigal prophet what occurs when God’s children run from His call on their life. This Sunday, we will witness what God’s discipline looks like when we rebel against His will for our lives.  

This should be a great message for those who need to identify if the current storm in their life is the result of a trial that needs to be endured, or a consequence that needs to be confessed.

This week, we will begin a new sermon series in the book of Jonah!

Prepare to examine the life of a prophet who knew the heart of God, heard the call of God, and proceeded to flee from the mission of God for his life. Why did he run? Will he get away? What’s life like when you're running from God?

This Sunday, we will see how far Jonah is willing to go to get away from the call of God. Pray with me that God will have someone attend or tune in this week that has been running from God, that they might learn from the life of Jonah.

This Sunday, we will be concluding our Week of Prayer by sharing a review of the week, spending some extra time in prayer, and focusing on the "Soul on Fire" found in Psalm 63.
