Hebrews 11 (Continued)

This Sunday, we’ll wrap up our discussion of the Hall of Faith in Hebrews 11. Why have the people named there been given such honor in scripture? Because they demonstrated great faith when challenged, focusing on heaven and storing up treasures there, knowing this life on earth is only temporary.

 

We can get so caught up in this world and prioritize things that aren’t really all that important. Instead, let’s eagerly anticipate what awaits us in eternity, knowing it is so much greater than anything we’re facing today.

Hebrews 10

Throughout our study of the tabernacle, we’ve learned that once Christ shed his blood on the cross as the ultimate sacrifice for us, we no longer need to practice the sacrifices and rituals of the old law. God has made a new covenant with us, and we now have full, direct access to him—no barriers, no middleman. Because of what Jesus did, we’re invited into a real, close relationship with confidence, not fear.

 

But this isn’t just about us individually. We need to look out for each other and encourage one another toward love, growth, and doing good. We shouldn’t drift away from community—it matters, especially when life gets hard.

 

Stay steady. Keep going. There’s a reward coming, but it requires endurance. Don’t shrink back. Don’t give up. Keep trusting, keep moving forward, and your faith will be richly rewarded.

Hebrews 10

This Sunday, we’ll continue our study of Hebrews and the system of sacrifices and priestly duties that occurred in the tabernacle.

 

In chapter 10, the author pulls back the curtain on a hard truth: all those repeated sacrifices were never enough—they were reminders of sin, not a real solution. But when Jesus stepped in and did what no system ever could, everything changed.

 

Now the invitation is bold and personal: don’t hang back. Draw near to God with confidence, hold tightly to hope, and don’t drift into isolation. Because when you truly grasp what Christ has done, the question isn’t just what do you believe?—it’s how will you live in response?

Hebrews 9

This Sunday we’ll step into Hebrews 9 as we continue studying the tabernacle and the powerful contrast between the old system of priesthood and the new way provided by Christ.

The rituals and sacrifices of the tabernacle appeared holy on the outside, but they couldn’t truly clean the inside. Thankfully, there came a pivotal moment when Jesus offered Himself as the required sacrifice. Not a repeated ritual, but a decisive, once-and-for-all rescue.

Hebrews 8

This week we return to our study of Hebrews and explore the “new covenant” established by God that is far greater than the former. At the center of this new covenant is Jesus, our perfect High Priest, who sits in the heavens with God the Father.

 

We’ll get a new perspective of Christ through his priesthood and begin examining the functions of the tabernacle, focusing on the outer gate and the door this week. Over the next few weeks, we’ll go deeper as we enter into the outer court and eventually reach the innermost sacred chamber, the Holy of Holies.

 

What does this new covenant mean for the believer? Where is the tabernacle today, and where does God dwell? Join us this week to find out!

This king and priest takes on a major role in chapter 7, as the author of Hebrews builds a case that Jesus is a greater High Priest — a priest in the order of Melchizedek.

We’ll unpack this enigmatic figure, and in doing so, we’ll get a fuller picture of Jesus’ work on our behalf.
