Last week, Jesus stopped his teaching and crossed to the other side to free a man from demonic possession in order to send a message of hope throughout the Gentile region. Mark is a book of action and we’ve seen Jesus “immediately” healing the sick, teaching the crowds, and choosing his followers. While there has been some resistance to Jesus so far, this week he will face new levels of rejection. Opinions, criticism, judgment, feedback — in Mark 3, the resistance to Jesus gets turned way up. 

As we follow along Mark’s story, we’ll witness how Jesus deals with all the “noise” that comes when you’re trying to do the right thing, and we’ll learn his strategy for tuning out that noise and walking forward in obedience to God.
